ABOUT US....
Eastmoor Angling Club was re-launched in 2001,by close friends Ron Halliday ,Bruce Woodcock and David Land.
Launched to promote fishing to the young and old and bring together communities of the East Ward 16 area ( Wakefield )
The club took over reclaimed land on a former colliery site at the back of the estate. Mr Land ,Bruce Woodcock and Ron Halliday were responsible for clearing and re-stocking the River Calder, between the railway bridge on Linton Road and the lock.
Since its launch the club has grown, uniting young and old residents of the estate and rejuvenating a stretch of the River Calder,Also over the years the Coppers Pond and Washlands Lake,Washlands North Lake and recently the Aire & Calder Navigation between Broadreach Lock (old lock house) and the Visitor moorings for Stanley Ferry.

The club, which is free of charge for under 18's, has become so successful it has now expanded to reel in members from Portobello and College Grove.
